Design Features
- Create a new office space for this association of accomplished lawyers that is vibrant, inviting, and professional for use by members
- Design the space to maximize efficiency and functionality for staff
Challenges
- Create multiple purpose spaces that minimize duplication and increase efficiency
- Select the ideal office location between four alternate spaces and buildings
- Design the office layout to achieve optimum functionality while maintaining much of the existing space conditions
Key Achievements
- Allow natural daylight and views for all employees, whether in enclosed offices or open workstation area
- Design a large conference room with flexible seating arrangement that functions well for member meetings and doubles as functional workspace for staff
- Add accent wall colors to highlight special areas of the office: workstations, conference room serving area, reception, and waiting area
- Incorporate assorted patterned carpet tiles to enhance office area and bring to light the furniture in the board room
- Create a playful, yet corporate finish and color scheme that appeals to both the IADC employees and their clients
- Design ceiling features to indicate transition between circulation and open office area
- Build energy efficient light fixtures on occupancy sensors
