Design Features

Challenges
- Complete the sizable project under a short timeline
- Limited existing exit capacity
- Reuse as much of the existing historic building construction as possible, in order to save time, cost and need for raw finite materials
Key Achievements
- Created flexibility in space plan and furniture layout that encourages teamwork and supports multiple workgroups with access to latest technology
- Applied intense colors and patterned materials that embrace the youthful culture of the creative technologists
- Designed a three-dimensional ceiling plan with exposed mechanical systems and unconventional lighting layouts to enhance the large open floor plate
- Allowed natural light and views into all spaces with high historic windows, low-height workstation partitions and large glass sidelights to enclosed offices and conference rooms
- Incorporated new ergonomically comfortable seating and furniture systems to promote the idea of elastic design and flexible workspace
- Enhanced the historic building common space with new finishes and handicap accessible restrooms
